Throughout my 20+ year career as a practicing Otolaryngologist I have seen thousands of patients suffering with sinusitis. Although conventional therapy and treatment frequently provide relief, there are still a vast number of patients whose life activities are severely limited as they continue to deal with symptoms of sinusitis. This required a fresh approach in both the diagnosis and treatment of sinusitis.
You’ll notice several differences when you’re treated at the NY Center for Sinus Relief. First of all, there are many different causes for sinusitis. Because sinus inflammation may be multifactorial, we take a very in depth history to customize treatment to the most likely cause of that inflammation. Another difference in our care is the approach to less recognized causes of sinusitis. Overlooked conditions may be picked up based on blood-testing for autoimmune or immune deficiency conditions. We perform this testing with patients who have not been successful with standard therapy. Diet and environment are usually given cursory attention when “treating” sinus disease. We do a detailed diet analysis and program to help determine if something in your diet is influencing your condition. We also provide diet solutions. Lastly, if a procedure to open the sinuses is necessary then a minimally invasive approach which spares the natural tissue of your sinuses should be considered first. Office based balloon dilation of the sinuses has revolutionized what can be done to provide relief to my patients.
