Unfortunately, when it comes to sinusitis and inflammation, a recurring cycle begins to form. A stimuli causes the sinuses to swell, blocking the ostia (sinus openings), which then lead to the accumulation of bacteria and infection.
The infection provokes an immune response causing the sinuses to become inflamed, repeating the cycle until it is adequately treated.
